Daydreaming About....

Now that you all know, that we're expecting....I can share something with ya. I find myself daydreaming, about babies and kiddos all day long!! I'm 9 weeks, 3 days today. I look more, "ate too many donuts," than pregnant. I've been super sick....for weeks. I swear to ya, there is no such thing as "morning sickness!!" It's all day, every day!

But enough of that, I've just been dreaming of kiddos. And how fun this new chapter of our life, is going to be. I sit here and try to imagine life with a little girl, and a little boy. Of crazy days, filled with toys, tantrums, and lots of cuddles. I think about all of that. And it just makes all of the "morning sickness" worth it!!

Come on! How can you not be excited, over a sweet little girl like this? Playing in the park. Right down the road. All smiles!

Or a cute little boy. Just like this. Jumping around. Taking a leap off of our back porch. Enjoying all that life has to offer! Being rough and tough. And all that stuff.

I sit here and imagine what life is going to be. How different our life is going to be. But how exciting life is about to become. I just can't wait! Until the day I get to snap pictures like these. ~Chels

When Times Get Tough....

Lately, life has been tough. I feel like someone has kicked me in the stomach. Or is sitting here, with their hands inside me, torturing my insides. I've been so sick! "Morning sickness," is killing me. Literally, I spend 20 hours laying down. A day!! Why don't women talk about this stuff?

I've been feeling really bad. I mutter up enough energy to make my hubby some breakfast, take my vitamins, and shove something down my throat....every morning. Then I lay down. For hours and hours. Praying that it stays down. In the afternoon, I manage to get up again, throw in a load of laundry, and shove some lunch down my throat. Then I take a nap, until my hubby gets home.

Talk about feeling like crap! He comes home, to a messy home, no dinner, and a wife that looks like death. Poor man. If he wanted a divorce right now, I'd totally understand! My hubby comes home, from working 10 hours. And has to cook dinner. Then I feel really bad. And I try to do more laundry. And I cry. Cry every evening, in the middle of our bedroom.

To which my hubby comes to hold me. And tell me, it's OK. That life isn't always going to be like this. There is a reason. And that is, I'm growing  us a strong and healthy baby. My hubby reminds me that life isn't always going to be like this. That I'm doing something, that he can't do. Grow a baby. And he is more than happy, to pick up my slack.

Yes, my hubby makes us dinner. Preps both of our lunches. Finishes the laundry that I started earlier. Cleans the yard. And has started helping out with the housework. I pray, that this will not last much longer. I just don't know if I have it in me, to continue this way.

Last night, my hubby reminded me of our wedding vows. "For better, or for worse. In sickness, and in health." You never think about those things, when you're getting married. But on the tough days, the wedding vows, really do take on a new meaning. A more meaningful definition of marriage.

I know, in my heart, that all of this is for the well being of our baby. And our family. It doesn't make it easier. But it makes it easier to understand. I know, that I have an AMAZING husband. Lately, I've grown to know, he is so much more amazing, than I could ever dream up. He's so loving, caring, and understanding. I'm so thankful for my hubby! Yes, he makes my grey skies happy. He finds ways to make me smile, when no one else can. I'm so lucky to have him! Our baby is so lucky, that he is going to be their daddy!! ~Chels

Speechless....

Once in a while, I find something that I REALLY LOVE!! Not only do I LOVE it for myself, but then I also want to give them away. Well, as I was wasting time on searching through Pinterest today, I found this little picture. And it was seriously "LOVE at first sight!"

Not only do I think this particular cross would look AMAZING in our home. I'd LOVE to gift my parents and my in-law with one too! Wouldn't this be a wonderful Christmas gift? Gee, now I need to actually find crosses like this. Or maybe, my hubs and his buddies could make some.... ~Chels

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!! Funny how this is my first Halloween, where I don't have anything to do. No school, no job, no real responsibilities. But I have no plans for the day. I'm thinking I might make some yummy appetizers, and desserts. Doesn't that sound yummy?

Tonight hubs and I are ordering pizza. And we're looking forward to all the "Trick-or-Treaters!" We got plenty of candy. I just hope we get lots of kids. Being a Monday, I just don't know. But hubs and I enjoy handing out candy. I've had fun decorating too.

Don't these decorations look great? They're not ours. Just a picture I found on Pinterest. It will definitely inspire me....for next year! What are your plans? Anything that we should add to ours? Any recipes that you would recommend? Hope everyone has a safe and fun evening! ~Chels

Oh. My. Goodness!

It's October. How did that happen? I still feel like it's May. And that I just graduated! Life is just moving so fast! And I still don't have a job. :(

But don't get to sad. My hubs likes to tell me....turn that frown upside down. :) With all this spare time, I've been trying to be a better wife. You know, take care of my hubbys, take care of our home, do more home projects, clean, laundry, and cook. The last one....is definitely the toughest! And I hate to admit it!! What's worse, I had to take a handful of cooking classes in college. Apparently, I didn't learn a thing!! My "go-to" recipe is still the English muffin pizzas, that I learned how to make in middle school. With a salad! :)

Thank goodness for Pinterest and blogs! I'm learning a little from both. Honestly, I've been a little down lately. A "pick me up" is definitely in order! Today I decided that I was going to bake something yummy. When I found this recipe on Classy Clutter....I just about died with excitement!!

There's a cake in there. With Kit Kat's all around. Then M&Ms on top! Are. You Serious? Yes, I am! We just happened to have lots of candy. I spent about an hour in the Halloween candy aisle Friday. We also have a cake mix, and frosting in the house.

Yes, this is what I'm making in 5 minutes!! I just can't wait. With a different bow, I think this would be perfect for Halloween! Heck, I might make one for the Halloween Carnival at church. Because how can I mess this up? Candy and cake....does it get any better? ~Chels

Like Heaven!!

It's Fall. I've been ready for this glorious season....since July!! Heck ya! I'm tired of triple digit temps. And I'm ready, to just enjoy life again. :)

Along with that, comes a little laziness. Sitting outside, with my laptop. Catching up on blogs. Like one of my new favorites! Mix and Match Mama! Um, hello, where have you been all my life? Now there is even hope for me. The woman that can't cook. :) And this recipe....OMG!

I decided to bake up a batch....or 3!! This was a few nights ago. And it's still hot outside. I can't lie! Our freezer is well stocked with frozen treats!! But what my hubs did next....was life changing! He placed a scoop of brown sugar ice cream....in between 2 cookies. Life changing!! Oh, you must try this recipe out! ~Chels

Who Woulda Thought?

I was wondering around the internet today. Looking for some inspiration. I need to start decorating for Halloween. But I want to try something new this year. I got all inspired. You'd be shocked at all the good ideas in "Blogland." But it was when I wondered onto Pinterest, that I really got inspired!

Who woulda thought? Black and white. So classic. And elegant. Would it be weird if I decorated in all black and white this year? Maybe a few touches of orange. I mean, I'll really have to challenge myself. Being that most store bought stuff, is so colorful. But I thought it would be so fun! ~Chels

Just Lovely....

I don't know how I found Just Lovely Things. I don't know when I first saw these amazing headbands. But I do know, that I want one! Or 10!! However many, God wants me to have. Because they are just too gorgeous and fun!!

What do you think? Would you wear a headband like this? I especially adore these colors for Fall. Now that it's finally September, I'm dreaming of all the rich colors. If I wasn't unemployed, a recent college grad, and married....I would totally have spent the $20+ for one of these precious goodies! And I'd wear it every day!! ~Chels

Sassy Halloween Fun!!

Once in a while, I run into something that I LOVE!! Something that's a little sassy. And a whole lot of fun! Enter in this fabulous wreath. Made by Mallory. I don't just adore this wreath. I adore Classy Clutter.

I'm like 2% crafty. No lie! My friends try to help me. I'm just not there. But you know what, this bad boy and I....we've got a date! With that sassy ribbon! Hopefully, I can get a wreath made before Halloween. How fun would that be? ~Chels

Mexican Cornbread Bake

I tried out a new recipe today. Lola is always blogging about these yummy Gooseberry Patch Free Recipes. And there is a free one every week! I seen this one on Wednesday. And finally made it to the store today. To buy a few of the things I really needed to make it.

It's been really hot around here. So my hubby grilled up some chicken, I made a Mexican salad, and this yummy cornbread bake. Dinner was heaven today! A little much. But I really think you should try it out too! I will definitely be checking the free recipes from now on. ~Chels

Mexican Cornbread Bake

1 lb. ground beef
4-1/2 oz. can chopped green chiles
1 onion, chopped
2 t. Mexican seasoning
1 T. chili powder
8-oz. can Mexican-style tomato sauce
8-1/2 oz. pkg. cornbread mix

In a skillet over medium heat, brown beef and drain. Add chiles, onion, seasoning and chili powder; cook until onion is tender. Add tomato sauce and simmer. Prepare cornbread batter according to package directions; pour half the batter into a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Spoon beef mixture over batter; top with remaining cornbread batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, or until cornbread is golden. Serves 4 to 6.
